The School of Computing and Technology (SCT) was established in 1979 and it is the most experienced academic unit of the Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU). SCT provides a high-tech education in a fully digital and multicultural environment to its multinational student profile.

The primary goal of SCT is to prepare highly skilled technical human resources demanded by the business, industry and service sectors of today's globalized digital world. To accomplish its primary goal, SCT is committed to equip graduates with the necessary knowledge and skills in their fields of study, through regularly revised project-based learning curriculum, and qualified teaching staff with industrial background.

With its excellent facilities coupled with a commitment to excellence in teaching and ''Project-based learning'', the SCT offers a wide variety of academic programs including a non-thesis Master of Technology degree program in IT, a Bachelor of Science degree program in IT and associate degree programs. 

We strive to create high-caliber graduates who are:

  • Equipped with the latest theoretical and practical skills;
  • Experienced in multinational team work environment;
  • Comfortable in adapting themselves to different working conditions;
  • Capable of utilizing the latest technologies efficiently;
  • Aware of new developments in their fields of interest;
  • Experts in identifying, analyzing and solving technology related problems;
  • Familiar with industrial standards and broadly accepted discipline processes and have a sense of what comprises ethical, reasonable behavior.

After a high-tech education, our graduates become strong candidates for elite and high-income professional positions. 

Vision

We envision SCT to be nationally and internationally competitive in the area of Information Technology (IT) and Vocational education. Vocational education programs in SCT aim to educate the technical personnel demanded by the industry in North Cyprus and Turkey. In addition, SCT gives special emphasis on preparing confident, self-sufficient, self-learning and well organized graduates who are skilled in the use of IT and online resources in order to generate useful information towards solving practical problems. SCT graduates are equipped with leadership skills, general knowledge of business administration, organization and ethics, in order to start, manage and maintain their businesses.    

Mission

The mission of SCT is to yield graduates that are fully blended with theoretical and practical skills which aid them to use technology in identifying, analyzing and solving real life problems through regularly revised project-based learning curriculums. SCT yields trustworthy, respectable and bilingual graduates with self-learning abilities, who are aware of current technology, international cultures and global economy.
