EMU – SCT Electrical and Electronics Students Pay a Technical Visit to the New Ercan Airport Construction Site

Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) School of Computing and Technology (SCT) Department of Electrical and Electronics Technology final year students paid a technical visit to the new Ercan Airport construction site as a result of the organization of the Cyprus Turkish Electrical Contractors’ Association (KTEMB) and the Department of Planning and Construction (PİD).

KTEMB  members, a PİD representative, construction site representatives and a workplace health and safety expert were present during the visit that took place for students to examine the electric work of the technologically highly developed new airport. EMU-SCT Director (a.) Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nazife Dimililer stated that the students obtained a great opportunity to examine the technological investment made to a big structure being constructed in our country. Indicating that SCT’s mission is to train students who possess the theoretical and practical skills required in the business world and industry Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dimililer underlined the importance of the visit.

KTEMB  members and EMU-SCT students stated that they want to organize a second visit in the upcoming months in order to examine how the work will be completed. The Cyprus Turkish Electrical Contractors’ Association President Bora Karaçam and EMU Department of Electrical and Electronics Technology Coordinator Asst. Prof. Dr. Alper Doğanalp indicated that they are developing collaboration between the two institutions that will contribute to the society and academy.
