COMPUTER LAB USAGE POLICIES

To the Attention of All Computer & Network Users
Strictly prohibited actions:
The following actions result in disciplinary action in accordance with existing by laws and regulations:
1. Use of computer accounts belonging to others.
2. Hacking, cracking or damaging the information in accounts of other users, network servers, internet and e-mail systems.
3. Sending e-mails with masked or fake identity.
4. Deliberately wasting computer resources by sending unsolicited mail and sending "chain letters"
5. Sending, posting or displaying offensive, menacing, abusive, slanderous, obscene, or defamatory messages, text, graphics, or images.
6. Harassment and intimidation of individuals on the basis of race, sex, religion, ethnic origin, disability, etc.
7. Theft or damaging the equipment or software.
8. Knowingly running or installing viruses or password cracking programs.
9. Deliberately changing the configuration of the system.

The following actions will result in expulsion from the laboratory
10. Playing network games.
11. Using computers for profit or commercial gain.
12. Smoking.
13. Eating and drinking.
14. Using mobile phones.
15. Loud talking or long conversations

Computer Usage Priorities
During free hours the top priority for the use of computers is given to course related work:
1. Projects
2. Homework
3. Reports
If free computers are available, one can use computers for knowledge and information oriented purposes:
4. Internet (surfing in pornography or other abusive sites is strictly prohibited).
5. Personal WEB Page development.
6. FTP
Last priority is given to leisure and communication oriented usage:
7. Sending or receiving e-mails.s
8. Chatting with IRC, MIRC, etc.
If there are no free computers available, the lab operator will ask a student to leave the computer for the purposes of higher priority work of another student.
