OFFICE MANAGEMENT
The main policy of the program is to educate
students in a practical way rather than theoretically, therefore a
great emphasis is being given to practical courses. Since this is a
2-year program, the courses have been designed to give the students
all the knowledge and expertise necessary, which will be useful in
the market. Another aim of this program is to enable students to be
able to immediately enter to business market on graduating by
offering the students essential knowledge of Office Management
skills required by the market. It supplies industry and government
with intelligent, dedicated graduates who are practically oriented,
immediately useful, and capable of further personal development
whether through advanced formal education or by promotion to senior
job responsibility.
The curriculum of the department covers Secreterial Procedures,
Applied Computer Techniques, Keyboarding, Office Machines,
Accounting, Business Writing, Business and Management courses.
Furthermore students are required to complete a 45 working day
summer training program that aims to develop the student s practical
skills in Office Management.
The graduates of this department will go into the
business world and will find complete satisfaction in their progress
which will lead to greater responsibilities. The students are not
simply learning theoretically but learning how to operate
proactively.
English Preparatory School
Since the medium of instruction is in English, students will have to
study for one year in the English Preparatory School to acquire a
sufficient English background in order to be able to follow the
classes in the program. The students who have internationally
accepted certificates to prove their English proficiency or who are
successful in the English proficiency exam, presented by the Eastern
Mediterranean University can directly register to the first year of
the School of Computing and Technology
(Office Management Program).
